12/11 New Obsession & A Joyful Vegan Winner
A few days ago I receive d a VegNews email with This Weeks Must Have….. Field Roast Hazelnut en Croute. 
Vegan Essentials describes this mind boggling delicacy as rich grain meat seasoned with toasted hazelnuts and rosemary, stuffed with a sausage-style mixture of Field Roast, cranberries, apples and crystallized ginger, wrapped en croute with a rich vegan puff pastry. Basically it is some of the most delicious holiday inspired flavors wrapped in puff pastry and baked. Seriously?! Is it a meal or a dream come true? The minute I saw it I began to obsess about it like it was the last Cabbage Patch Doll available circa 1983. As I drove off for my shift at Trader Joe’s I was yelling out the Kia Soul window to Sandy….”For the love of all that is holy…find one of those!”
She did just that. They are available (and the most reasonable) at our local Whole Foods so they are most likely also available at yours. They are sold out most everywhere, but we were able to locate an online vendor that had them as of yesterday called, The Flaming Ice Cube Vegan Shoppe and Cafe. The only thing I know about this place is that they have the coolest name going. If you choose to order from them, please share your experience with us.
I will do a full review when we have secured our puffy pastry enrobed cranberry, hazelnutty, meaty loveliness. In the meantime, if you have experienced such a no beast roast feast…please share. I think it looks elegant and fun and decadent. I cant wait to try it.
