5/1 Cookie Update
Happy May!
We brought the Vegan Lemon Poppy-seed cookies to the dinner party. I was both proud and slightly nervous. What if they shun them and throw us out? What if they were hoping for something more sinful and decadent than my vegan surprise? The funny thing is that after cocktail hour and a huge meal….we never even got there. We never had dessert. A ton of emotional energy expended for no reason. What a lesson in giving and sharing without expectation.
I had several people try the cookies to get a more accurate read on the actual taste.
What they thought:
Amy thought the crispier cookies were more tasty than the soft. (Baked a little bit longer)
Sandy liked the softer cookies (more scone or muffin like)
They have a nice flavor and mouth feel.
They would be a great accompaniment to brunch or a cup of tea.
What I thought:
Really easy to make
Great flavor, but a tad too sweet. ( I would use less sugar and more lemon zest)
Would be an elegant add on to a dish of lemon or raspberry sorbet
I will post the recipe in the recipe section. If you try them, let me know what you think. If you hate them, feel free to keep that to yourself. Keep sharing your recipes and I will try them and share them.
Have a great day!
