Veganville-Loved it and Relocating
If I could move to Veganville, I would already be packed and the dogs would be in the car. Veganville is the name of a catering and vegan sweets baker out of Berkley, California. GiGi, the owner and creator of Veganville sent us a package of some of the most decadent edibles we have ever experienced. Here is what we tried.
Sam Sam Devils Food Loaf:
The Sam Sam Loaf is so, so good that Sandy said she wanted it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is a rich, banana and dark chocolatey loaf. It is bigger than a brownie but smaller than a bread-box. Once you have tried it you will wish it were as big as a Prius.
Martha Made a Mint Cookies:
Imagine a cookie as dense as shortbread with a soft center filled with dark, minty, satiny chocolate and you have just described one of these cookies. The texture of the cookie is what really made me awestruck. They are so crunchy on the outside and so very soft in the center that they had to have been created by magical means. The mint is subtle and so satisfying. If a mint girl scout cookie went to charm school and then graduated from the Cordon Bleu, you would have one of Martha Made a Mint Cookies.
Added bonus, they came wrapped in a Beetlejuice-esque black and white striped ribbon. The minute you open the box and see the packaged cookies you know you are about to experience something you have never had before. They feel unique and luscious before you have ever tasted them.
Maple Vanilla cupcakes with Peanut Butter Frosting:
The cupcakes were delivered with the frosting in a separate container. I thought this was a smashing plan on so many levels. It was fun to frost your own cupcakes to order, I got to use as much frosting as I wanted, and it helped me to taste the cupcakes on their own merit (you know I am partial to anything peanut butter).
The maple was soft and lingering. You can taste the cupcakes with their scent before you ever put it in your mouth. The cakes are light, luscious and moist. You think they are perfect exactly the way they are until you remember there is peanut butter frosting waiting to join the festivities. The frosting is not of this world. She has bewitched this frosting in the most magical way. I have never tasted a frosting that literally melted in your mouth. It melts clean and leaves you wanting more. There is no frosting residue. The peanut butter is rich and creamy and surprisingly not too sweet on the cupcake. The sweetness of the maple and the saltiness of the peanut butter frosting are the perfect combination. They are the yin and yang of sweet and salty.
I adored the products we tried from Veganville. They are crave-able, reasonably priced and ready to be shipped to your door. I cannot imagine the joy you would bring to someone if you sent them a box of cookies, Sam Sam Loaves or cupcakes for their next birthday or gift worthy event.
Nothing says I love you like a box of dark chocolate, minty cookies or peanut butter frosted cupcakes delivered to your door. GiGi is making a difference one meal at a time with her vegan baked, heavenly, out of this world edibles.

GiGi,
You are so welcome. It was truly well deserved. When I think about the peanut butter frosting I cry a little bit. Just knowing it is out there haunts me. We are about 97%vegan. The actual 30 day challenge begins on the 30th of this month. It has been an interesting experience already.

Owner GiGi is so funky, friendly and talented that you will be thrilled with anything you order but I have to give another plug for anything with the peanut butter frosting and the Sam Sam Loaves.
Enjoy and let me know how it goes!!

When the loaf was gone it was like we had watched the last of the oxygen leak out of the room. There was nothing left to say. GiGi can do no wrong as far as we are concerned. I am so glad you tried it.
