10/27/10 Movie Night
I have developed an Alfred Hitchcock obsession. I had never seen a Hitchcock thriller until three weeks ago and now I am honestly addicted. It all began with Rear Window starring the bewitching Grace Kelly and Jimmy Stewart. The plot moved so slowly that it literally terrorized my mind. We are so used to images flying at us and whizzing by in gun shots and fragments that do not require any thought what so ever. Hitchcock leads you down the slippery slope to madness one agonizing minute at a time. Brilliant!! No gore, nudity or swear words….just good old fashioned fun.
Since the inaugural flick we have watched The Birds (Devilishly ironic plot for a non fowl eating vegan) and The Man Who Knew Too Much (Not so much).
We tapped our local video store then went to the library for free Hitchcock movies. Bonus! Tonights selection is Vertigo.
My new favorite movie night snack is Orville Redenbacher’s Natural Lime + Salt popcorn. I thought going vegan meant that our microwave popcorn days were over. Not so fast. These mini bags are buttery and salty with a lime twist. If you were slurping a margarita in Key West while snacking on some popcorn…..that is what it tastes like to me. Absolutely yummy.
Have a delicious day and treat yourself to an old movie and some popcorn.
