2/4 Chocolove Yourself
Since becoming vegan one of the things I have been hyper vigilant in seeking out is mouthwatering vegan dark chocolate. To me it rivals finding the Lost Ark, finding my lost keys or finding a long lost love. The kind of chocolate that melts when it hits your tongue and tingles the sides of your mouth because its so dark and handsome. A bar full of nuts and fruit not like a granola bar but like a behemoth, artisan candy bar. The kind of bar that could encourage dishonesty, ” I have to go to the store (not really) to get hemp milk (consume my Chocolove bar and buy another). I’ll be right back.”
But frankly, I am willing to take that chance for some Chocolove.
Chocolove offers many mind bending flavors in both milk and dark, but the one that stole my heart yesterday was the Cherries & Almonds in Dark Chocolate. The cherries are tart and the chocolate is creamy like milk chocolate bars of my pre-vegan days with the anticipated tingle of a dark morsel. Each bite is packed with cherries and almonds like an over-stuffed couch, alleviating the inevitable breaking apart of the bar to get to the almonds before Sandy realizes what happened. I have never done that, I am simply assuring you that you will never have to. The bars are reasonably priced, artfully packaged and best of all available at many retail grocery stores, and online. Treat yourself to an indulgence or share it with a friend. They will chocolove you for it.
Have a delicious day.
*Chocolove does not label their chocolate bars as vegan and this is why:
We do not claim that Chocolove bars are vegan. Most of our dark chocolate arrives at our facility as kosher parve which means it is completely free of milk products, according to Jewish dietary law. The remainder arrives kosher dairy, which means the dark chocolate was made on equipment that also makes milk chocolate. Chocolove has separate equipment for melting and molding milk chocolate and dark chocolate. We take every measure to assure that milk chocolate is kept away from dark chocolate. You can expect our organic dark chocolate to be the least likely to contain any traces of milk chocolate.
I appreciate their diligence and honesty. You decide.

WARNING: I broke two teeth on the dark chocolate w/crystalized ginger bar.
It felt like there was an old piece of crystalized ginger that I bit down on and the next thing I know, portions of two of my teeth came out. I contacted the company and they were polite and forwarded me to their insurance company. The insurance company said that it was not their fault. Huh?

MLayland,
That is terrible and so strange. I am sorry to hear that happened. Chocolate should always be a joyful experience.
