7/9 Organic Mystery
The most exciting thing happened yesterday. We pulled into our driveway and sitting on our front porch was an enormous box with my name on it. The label on the outside gave it away even before I could leap out of the car. It was from Door To Door Organics, a company that delivers organic fruits and veggies right to your door. Sandy carried in the behemoth and I ripped it open before she could set it down.
Brilliant, vibrant produce was practically cascading out of the box. It was like Christmas at The Vegans.
So here’s the amazing part….I have no idea who it is from. There was no note, no card…no clue. Just the most abundant, generous bounty of life beautifying food I have ever seen. There were fragrant nectarines, carrots, gargantuan ears of peaches and cream corn and chard the color of the rainbow.
There was broccoli, tender young lettuce and enough plums to make cobbler for a crowd. The box felt like a clown car with a never ending stream of organic produce.
As I sit here sharing this experience with you I am awash with gratitude for the delicious gift.
If you have ever wondered how to wow someone…the foodie in your life or a cherished friend…this is it. There are organic door to door services in every community and I think it is such a meaningful gift. It made me feel loved and cared for…even if the source of that remains a mystery. How exciting.
Have a delicious day.
