9/30 I Think You’re Lovely
It is my honor to share with you that Exploits was just given the Loveliest Blog Award! It was bestowed upon us by GiGi from Veganville bakery and blog.
The Loveliest Blog award originated in Germany. The purpose is to share blogs that you admire with other people. People who receive the award are encouraged to pass it on. Thank you Gigi. I graciously and humbly accept. Receiving an accolade from a fellow vegan, blogger, food loving, vegan turtle brownie creating woman is truly an honor and I thank you.
I would like to honor JL goes Vegan with the Loveliest Blog Award. JL is a runner, kale enthusiast and vegan blogger that creates inspired dishes. As she puts it…she has, “Stopped chasing skinny.” I deeply admire that and have found that notion has become easier and easier since adopting a vegan lifestyle. JL has been a continued source of inspiration as I train for my first half marathon. I love her writing and think you will as well.
I would also like to honor the blog Suicide Food with the Lovliest Blog award. I admire and enjoy this blog because the first time I went there it blew my mind. It encouraged me to think about the advertising messages I subconsciously digest on a daily basis. It made me laugh out loud because its honesty is sick and wrong. It made my rage bubble to the surface at the way people objectify animals to sell them for food. It made me grateful to be a compassionate consumer.
Here is the fruit salad recipe from the Forks Over Knives viewing party we co-hosted. Honestly, I made it as an after thought and people went crazy over it. I love when people enjoy something that is such a cinch to create because it makes me feel as though they will replicate it in their own home. I handed out the recipe at the viewing as added incentive.
Fruit Salad w/ Creamy Cinnamon Coconut Dressing
By: S. Duquet
Ingredients
Use whatever fruit you love. This is what I used.
2 Quarts chopped strawberries
2 half pints blueberries
2 chopped pineapples
1 10 oz bag shredded carrots
Dressing Ingredients
2 cartons vanilla non-dairy milk yogurt (I used Silk)
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp coconut extract
1 tsp agave
1 tsp vanilla
1 Tbsp non-dairy milk (I used unsweetened vanilla almond milk)
Make It Happen
~Put all fruit in a big bowl and set aside
~Put all dressing ingredients into a bowl or small food processor and blend until thoroughly combined
~Toss desired amount of dressing gently with fruit
The recipe I originally designed had 1 C of unsweetened shredded coconut added at the end. Here’s the thing….I forgot to add the coconut to the salad at the party. I was so busy setting tables and plating desserts that it never crossed my mind. So, add it if you would like and let me know what you think.
Have a delicious day.

I am so honored! I come to THIS blog for inspiration — so I’m even more moved. Thank your for the shout out but, more importantly, thank YOU for the great wisdom and knowledge that you share on this blog!
BTW, I’m a huge Suicide Food fan, too. I heard Ben speak at Vida Vegan Con. He’s the real deal. He’s smart, sardonic and devoted to the cause.
