10/4 Cloudy With a Chance of Realism
Since becoming vegan we have become food movie aficionados. We have hosted Mind Expanding Movie Nights at our house where we have experienced slaughterhouses, GMO’s, corporate cover ups and greed centered around the food industry. I have been blown away, shamed and prideful as I have watched these movies with purpose. Over the weekend we saw a movie with a message as serious as any we have seen. The difference was that the influence of this movie came wrapped in a prettier package which made it unsuspecting. I rented the family movie based on the children’s book of the same name, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs for a light hearted evening. I was interested on putting my brain in neutral and had no idea the movie would depict the cataclysmic consequences we face because of our over consumption of all things processed and genetically engineered. The movie is sweet and funny and will make you laugh out loud. It will also scare the hell out of anyone that has ever thought about our nations insatiable appetite for self destruction through food. Suitable for children, foodies and activists of all ages, it will make you crave kale and fear the next cloudy day. Here is a link to the trailer: Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs
Are there any movies you would recommend?
Have a delicious day.
