12/30 It’s Going To Be A Green Day
Smoothies are such an easy way to infuse your day with green. This is a recipe I made up for the most luscious, smooth and creamy green smoothie. It is abundant with healthy fat, greens and potassium. The flavor is so luxurious that it reminded me of Haagen-Dazs Honey Vanilla ice cream, one of my all time favorites from my dairy indulgent past. The smoothie is lush beyond imagination because of the frozen bananas and avocado. It is like having ice cream for breakfast or a mid-day snack. I really loved this concoction because the flavor combo is mild and soothing enough to have for breakfast. When I wake up for work and it is still dark out, my taste buds need to be comforted and enticed into the day. Sometimes the most I can do is choke down oatmeal. This is a start to your day that you whip up in a blender, consume through a straw and is tastier than oatmeal. Good morning to that.
A Green Day Smoothie
By: S. Duquet
Serves 2
Ingredients
1/2 ripe avocado
2 frozen bananas
1 Tbsp agave
1 Tbsp fresh lime juice
1/2 C fresh mint
1 C raw baby spinach
1 C unsweetened coconut milk (or non dairy milk of your choice)
Make It Happen
Put all ingredients in your blender or smoothie maker and whip until smooth then enjoy.
I think you are really going to enjoy this combination of flavors. If you have a favorite smoothie combo, please share. Even though it is cold (bitter and unforgiving) outside, smoothies are an easy and inexpensive way to fortify your beautiful bod from other peoples sniffles and sore throats. Eating well for radiant health is a cheaper way to go, and much more fun.
Have delicious and green day.

LOVE green smoothies, and they are very filling!!! A little bit of oats and blueberries added to this would be yum-o too!

Lisa,
What a great idea, thank you. I have never put oats in a smoothie and will give it a go.
