2/28 Luxurious Vegan Laundry Soap
When we visited Grand Rapids in January for Wake Up Weekend, we discovered a cool Recycle shop called the Tree Hugger Store. They are a recycle center for the community of many hard to recycle items and also have a retail storefront. Their merchandise is a compilation of many chic “up-cycled” products. Lots of the retail items were local in focus, carrying handcrafted items made in Michigan. One of them was a vegan laundry soap made by a company called Shower Treat Soap.
Vegan laundry soap is not something that I really gave much consideration to before, like most everyone else I know , I clipped coupons and chose whichever brand was on sale. Then, I would seek out a nicely scented fabric softener to counteract the harsh detergents and bring a pleasing scent back into my clothes that had just gone through a rigorous scrubbing in the washer. Since we were on vacation, I was willing to spend money on something that seemed a bit luxurious to me, handcrafted organic vegan soap, made lovingly by a company right here in Michigan. It boasts all natural ingredients without chemicals or artificial additives that can be harmful to the environment. Eco-friendly laundry soap? Okay, why not?. It is lightly scented with essential oils and there are several to choose from. The packaging was fun, recycled and recyclable, made more like packaging that is used for a pound of coffee than laundry bottles or boxes.
Here is the funny part, this tiny package is a superpower of laundering, providing 50-100 loads in this little envelope. Only 1 tablespoon is required per large load and no fabric softener needed because it is more gentle on your clothes in the first place. So, this seemingly luxurious $10 purchase is actually a bargain for laundry duties. We are still using the same small package we purchased in January and absolutely loving it.
I bought the Rosemary mint scent and it leaves a very gentle trace on your clothing, nothing offensive or overwhelming to the nose. It’s the perfect reminder that your clothes are clean and fresh but not falsely perfumed. As it turns out, this company makes other soaps as well, body washes, body care products, dishwashing soaps and more. I’m looking forward to trying more of their products and sharing about them with you. You can purchase their products on-line and have them shipped in economic quantities to your door. Here is the link to the laundry soap, including a sampler you can try first. Buy soap. I give it both thumbs up. It is eco-friendly, leaves your laundry gently loved, is eco-friendly and is a less expensive way to launder using less soap to complete the job. If you try any of their products, please share about it with us on Exploits.
Have a delicious and clean day.
