6/22 Vegan Pizza Day 2012
Pizza has always been one of my two favorite foods, ice cream being the second. My first job at the age of fifteen was at an ice cream parlor where I ate endless amounts of Tofutti ice cream, before I knew it was vegan cool. My second job was at a pizzeria (next door to the ice cream parlor) where I perfected the art of the over head dough twirl and consumed enough pizza for a Bravo TV mini series. It strengthened my resolve to love it more. Pizza with red sauce, white sauce, extra sauce….extra cheese, Feta cheese, no cheese. I have never been bound by shape or size…square, round, deep or thin….I adore them all.
Saturday, June 30 is Vegan Pizza Day. An entire day dedicated to the celebration of pizza, yes please. The idea is to bake, buy, consume, share and talk about how phenomenal vegan pizza is. Have your friends over for make-your-own pizza night, have it delivered or buy a couple from the freezer section of your grocery store and get your bake on at home. The Vegan Pizza Day Facebook page is a social swimming pool full of ideas for your next pie.
What are your favorite pizza recipes or toppings? I would love to hear about them. Here are my top four pizza recipes for inspiration.
Have a delicious weekend.
