10/19 Celebrating the Tigers
Exciting News!! Last night our own Detroit Tigers baseball team won the American League Championship and are now headed to the World Series. The Tigers are the first team in history to Sweep the Yankees for an AL Championship. The last time we won a World Series was 1984. I remember it as if it happened last week and would love to experience it all over again.
This year Comerica Park, the home of the Tigers came in at #3 on PETA’s Most Vegetarian Friendly Major League Ball Park. As if veggie dogs and a cold beer weren’t enough to make me happy, the Detroit Tigers have also partnered with the Wildlife Without Borders’ Tiger Conservation Fund, helping to save tigers in the wild. Since the inception of Pennies for Paws in 2008, they have raised over $40,000 for tiger conservation programs. Yet another reason to love our team. Feeling proud to be a Detroiter and celebrating the Tigers.
In honor of this exciting event, I wanted to share six mouthwatering recipes I rounded up for veggie dogs and brats of all kinds. I threw in a vegan bun recipe and two condiment recipes for the ultimate dog festivus. I have never, ever made my own veggie dogs, so I think it is time to try. If the Detroit Tigers can sweep the Yankees and earn a spot in the World Series, I can make a vegan hot dog from scratch.

How to make Vegan Burger and Dog Buns
On Meatless Monday I will share with you the last in the Meatless Goes Vintage series, Tempeh Stroganoff. Not to be missed.
Have a delicious weekend.
