3/22 Wired for Joy
Jewelry designer, vegan and creator of the Etsy shop Shades of Exaltation is crafting one-of-a-kind designs using wire and her own sense of whimsy. Jen’s pieces are personal, expressive and made just for you. Her Etsy site is teeming with original designs to choose from, including pieces of vegan jewelry. You also get to select your color or metallic shade and length of necklace.
She creates your piece just for you. Jen’s work is fanciful and varied. They range from inspirational words and yoga images to shapes taken from nature such as bugs, birds and clouds. There are pieces celebrating the less celebrated; like same sex couples, sign language and the molecular structure of caffeine (pictured right). I fell in love with the “vegan” necklace in lime green.
The passion in her work is evident. You can feel it in her designs and craftsmanship. The necklace I received was effervescent and nearly leapt out of the envelope and onto my neck. Because of its stainless steel composition, it felt light and dainty in a way that was gently elegant. My vegan message was delicate.
It was a whisper in your ear as opposed to a protest sign in your hand. I appreciate the passive activism in wearable things that are eye catching and beautiful. They lend themselves to creating conversation which I have found so helpful in sharing without proselytizing my plant based mantra.
Jen’s pieces are an affordable luxury at around $2o for the necklace of your choice. Some are higher and many are lower, depending on your design and wire of choice. Buy one for a friend, or buy two for yourself. Right now you can even buy three and get one free. No, I am not kidding. Here is the link to Jen’s shop. Shades of Exaltation. You will enjoy shopping her site but just think of how fantastic you will feel gifting beautiful things to people you love.
Have a delicious weekend.
