11/20 Adopt A Turkey
Thanksgiving is just over a week away. I have the perfect way to infuse your holiday with compassion and cool, adopt a turkey.
Sponsoring a turkey at Farm Sanctuary is a clever and thoughtful way to express gratitude and thanks. It is incredibly easy, affordable and helps a beautiful living thing continue to live out the rest of its life in a safe environment. That is really no more than the rest of us would like for our Thanksgiving too.
For only a $30 donation you will get to choose a Farm Sanctuary adoptable turkey to sponsor. You will then receive a certificate of sponsorship along with a color photo and fun facts and details about your new friend. I have spent much more for much less.
I love this idea for so many reasons. It is such an easy way to let in a little more love and thanks into our hearts. If this is your first veg holiday, what a way to celebrate. Still serving turkey but yearning for something more?…..sponsoring a turkey is a beautiful way to begin. It could also make a fun hostess gift and conversation piece as well.
In the past, I have had the privilege to meet several turkeys at our local farm animal sanctuary. They each have their own personalities like any companion animal we would know. They are sociable, have emotions and seem quite friendly to humans. One of those that I met before (Gandolf) loved to be petted, just like a dog. He was so sweet that I could hardly believe this was a turkey.
Thanksgiving is so much more than just a meal and that can be even more satisfying.
Have a delicious day.
